In some cases, it is not necessary to replace the entire Fuel Injector Set when servicing a fuel injector related concern.
If there are any concerns with the fuel injection system, then first determine which of the injector(s) is inoperative or leaking, and replace only the failed part(s). The fuel injector can be individually ordered and replaced rather than the entire Fuel Injector Set. Follow the diagnosis tips in the following Service Information.
1. No StartIf the result of diagnosis shows that the cause is found to be an injector, inspect the injection condition and injection amount according to the troubleshooting in the workshop manual, then replace only the failed part(s).
2. Rough Idle
When this concern is being observed, pull out the high tension leads from the cylinders one by one in order to find which cylinder is not functioning.
Check the ignition condition of the cylinder in question. If no problem is found, inspect the compression.
If no problem is found in the ignition and compression at the step b, check the injector-to-PCM harness and the power-to-injector harness for continuity.
If no problem is found at the Step c, replace only the injector of the cylinder in question.
3. "Hard to Start When Cold" or "Hard to Restart When Hot" (Including "long cranking time")Check the injector for leakage according to the procedure in the workshop manual, then replace only the failed injector(s).
4. Engine Stall
Duplicated
If the engine stall can be duplicated and no rough idle occurs, first inspect the injector-to-PCM harness and the power-to-injector harness for continuity before inspecting the injectors.
If rough idle is found, follow the above mentioned Step "2. Rough Idle".
Non-duplicated
Inspect the injector-to-PCM harness, and the power-to-injector harness for continuity. If no problem is found, there is no problem with the injectors.
NOTE: Warranty claims submitted for a Fuel Injector Set will be denied or subject to debit when an individual replacement part could have been used to repair the vehicle.
