DESCRIPTION

When driving over a rough road, a knocking noise may be heard from the front suspension. Vibration of the piston rod on the front shock absorber may be transmitted to the mounts due to fluctuation in the oil pressure of the front shock absorber, resulting in the knocking noise.

The characteristic of the rubber has been modified to prevent the noise.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

  1. Verify concern.

  2. Replace both left and right front rubber mounts with modified parts according to Workshop Manual (section 02-13 FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER AND COIL SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

  3. Check front end alignment of vehicle according to Workshop Manual (section 02-11 WHEEL ALIGNMENT PRE-INSPECTION).

  4. Verify repair.
