DESCRIPTION

Placing your hand on the rear door frame while entering or exiting the vehicle may cause the weatherstrip to pull out of its channel. All applicable vehicles should be inspected and repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Detach the weatherstrip from the top/side portion of the door as shown.

2. Clean weatherstrip and its channel with isoprophyl alcohol.
3. Apply a 1/4 inch bead of clear RTV silicone in the weatherstrip channel.
4. Reinstall weatherstrip into the channel and apply pressure to the affected area. Make sure that the silicone makes even contact with the weatherstrip.

NOTES:

5. Remove any excess silicone.

NOTE: Weatherstrip must not be disturbed for at least 24 hours.
