09-014/01 FRONT DOOR GLASS WON'T GO ALL THE WAY DOWN

DESCRIPTION

Some customers may experience the front door glass won't go all the way down. It stops halfway. This condition may be caused when the front door crash pad(s) become loose and fall to the bottom of the door preventing the full travel of the door glass.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

  1. Verify customer concern.

  2. Remove door panel according to Workshop Manual FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (section 09-17.

  3. Peel back plastic door screen.

  4. Remove original crash pad and discard.

  5. Clean double sided tape contact area with isopropyl alcohol.

  6. Remove paper backing from new crash pad double sided tape and align holes on the pad with mounting studs.

  7. Firmly press pad to the door.

    CAUTION: To prevent door skin distortion, care should be taken when pressing crash pad.

  8. Install both flange cap nuts on mounting studs.
  9. Verify repair.
