The attached instructions will assist dealer PDI personnel with predelivery inspection of key predelivery inspection areas.
NOTE: Service Managers are requested to distribute these instructions to personnel responsible for predelivery inspection. Service Managers should use these instructions in conjunction with the PreDelivery Inspection Sheet and Problem Free Inspection Sheet to inspect and evaluate predelivery inspection performance.
Rattle from Hood Area
A rattle noise may be heard under the hood when the front door is closed.
1. Pull the hood release lever to release the hook lock.
2. Slam the front door and listen for a rattle noise.
3. If the noise is heard, turn the two rubber stops counterclockwise 180 degrees (1/2 turn) to elevate the stops.
4. Close the hood and confirm that the noise does not occur when the front door is closed. Fig. 6
