DESCRIPTION

A squeal noise may be heard when releasing the clutch (moving the vehicle from a stop or shifting gears). The squeal is caused by mismatched springs in the cushioning plate of the clutch. To prevent squealing, the thickness of the cushioning plate has increased.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the complaint.
2. If the squeal noise is present only when releasing the clutch, replace the clutch disc.
3. If the squeal noise is coming from another source, use the applicable workshop manual troubleshooting procedures or the NVH manual to diagnose the problem.
4. Verify the repair.
