When the heater control lever is in the max. heat position and the      
engine is hot, heater output at the vents may be insufficient or feel
luke warm.

Remove the thermostat and carefully inspect the housing area for a piece

of casting flash blocking the heater inlet area. The flash may be the
size of a dime.

Back flushing the cooling system may dislodge the blockage, but once the

engine is started, it will become blocked again. It may still be loosely

attached to the head and acting as a check valve.

Remove the piece of casting flash through the thermostat hole using a
pair of needle nose pliers.
