0001228 Dealer Repair Information
While operating the fan (blower) at speed level 3 or 4, there may be a
whining or whistling noise emitting from the blower motor area.
There have been two (2) modifications made to the blower motor to
eliminate electromagnetic noise from the brushes:
1. MARCH 1990: Structural change to the brushes.
2. JANUARY 1993: Material change to the brushes.
Beginning VIN of MPC: JM1BG****P0605365
The modified blower motor can be identified by "Lot Number" stampings on
the bottom side of the motor. BLOWER MOTORS WITH LOT NUMBERS AFTER "1N"
HAVE THE ABOVE MODIFICATIONS. THE PART NUMBER (BR70-61-B10) IS
UNCHANGED. LOT NUMBER IDENTIFICATION: 1= Month (1= Jan., 2= Feb., 3=
Mar.,) N= Year (N= 1993, P=1994)
Example: A lot number stamping of "2P" would indicate: Feb, 1994
