0001604 Dealer Repair Information
When installing a new or remanufactured automatic transmission, do not
used air tools (impact gun, ratchet or palm ratchet) to remove or
install the gear selector cable at the transmission. If too much torque
is
applied to this fastener it may cause the pin connected to the manual
valve to break.
Torque the 12mm nut (socket size) holding the cable to the lever by hand
to 16-22 ft. lbs.
Torque the 21mm nut (socket size) holding the lever to the selector
shaft
by hand to 32-46 ft. lbs.
If transmission does not move, remove the transmission oil pan and
inspect the manual valve in the valve body and the detent lever (manual
plate) for
damage. If the detent lever (manual plate) is damaged replace it with
part number FU60-21-420B.
