A/C COMPRESSOR ENGAGED, WITH A/C SWITCH OFF.

When the mode selector dial is in the "DEFROSTER VENTS" or "DEFROSTER   
and FLOOR VENTS" or "FLOOR VENTS" the A/C system is automatically       
activated without the A/C switch in the on position and the indicator   
light does not illuminate.                                              
                                                                        
Repair Procedure                                                        
This is a normal operating characteristic of this vehicle and no repairs
should be performed.                                                    
The A/C system is automatically activated when the previously mentioned 
mode selector positions are selected to enhance interior glass defogging
                                                                        
The following description has been added to the 2003 Owners manual:

In the ""Floor Vent" Mode" positions, air conditioning is automatically 
turned on to defrost the windshield(however, the indicator light does   
not illuminate)and the outside air position is automatically selected.

In the "Defroster Vents Mode" or "Defroster and Floor Vents Mode"       
positions, air conditioning is automatically turned on to defrost the   
windshield quickly (however, the indicator light does not illuminate)   
and the outside air position is automatically selected. The air intake  
selector switch cannot be changed to the recirculated air position.
