ENGINE DOES NOT CRANK

Some vehicles may experience immobilizer system malfunctions and the    
engine does not crank.  DTC P1260 (immobilizer system problem) and      
B1600/B1602 (key ID number cannot be read) and/or U2516 (IC - CAN       
BUS OFF - transmit error) are stored in memory.                         
                                                                        
The immobilizer system's coil antenna may be out of position because    
the clips came off.                                                     
                                                                        
Confirm DTCs using WDS.  After removing upper column cover, check the   
coil antenna by shaking it with your fingers.                           
    (a) If it does not move, the fit is OK.  Follow Workshop Manual     
        diagnostics.                                                    
    (b) If it moves, the coil antenna is out of position.               
Check coil antenna lock tabs.  There are two tabs.  If out of           
position, detach lock tabs, then re-install.  Verify repair.
