ENGINE / FUEL / IMPROPER OPERATION
Some vehicles may have a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
illuminated
and DTC P0606 stored in the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM).
Note: There could also be possibility of slow battery
drainage.
1. Check if output of the MAIN RELAY stays ON, after
turning ignition
switch to the LOCK position for 15 minutes or
longer.
2. If confirmed, check if voltage at IG1 is less than
0.1V.
(a) If more than 0.1V, check related parts in
the circuit by
removing one at a
time. Replace the necessary
part(s).
(b) If less than 0.1V, refer to Workshop manual
page 01-02-159 for
normal
diagnostics.
Special Note: In past cases, the Passenger Junction Box
(PJB) was found
to cause excess voltage. The PJB contains the meter fuse
which powers
the immobilizer coil, instrument cluster, wiper relays, and
shift
interlock relay. They are not serviced separately. If
needed, the PJB
may require replacement. Be sure to perform PMI if PJB is
replaced.
