Symptom and Conditions

WDS software versions B35 or earlier version display incorrect EGR Flow Monitor test results (Test ID: 10:31:83). This problem occurs when the PCM Mode6 Tool is used in conjunction with the following models: MAZDA3 and MAZDA6. Example: Correct value: "4.06kPa" Displayed value: "4.6 kPa" (0 on the first decimal place is not displayed) This is due to an incorrect EGR Flow Monitor test calculation formula. B36 software (delivered in March 2005) will resolve this concern.

With EGR-related problems, using the method described below, use the Pending Code to confirm that the EGR system is functioning correctly instead of the EGR Flow Monitor test results (Test ID: 10:31:83). 1. Refer to the Drive Mode specified in the Workshop Manual. 2. Run the vehicle in the Drive Mode specified in the Workshop Manual. 3. If the system saves pending Code after the vehicle is tested using the specified Drive Mode, the problem has NOT been repaired. 4. If the system does not save the Pending Code after the vehicle is tested using the specified Drive Mode, the problem has been repaired.
