Symptoms and Conditions
On certain Service/ABS Brake replacement parts, there may be literature
attached that informs the technician to use Dot 4 BRAKE FLUID when
priming the hydraulic parts or adding brake fluid to the system
reservoir. This contradicts the information in the Mazda Service Manual
and on the vehicle's Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Cap that specifies
using only Dot 3 BRAKE FLUID in the system.
Repair Procedure
Unless otherwise specified in information provided by Mazda, use only
Dot 3 BRAKE FLUID with the Service/ABS Brake System when priming
hydraulic components or adding fluid to the system.
