When replacing the 2.0L engine on Mazda3 vehicles, it is important
to use the correct engine depending on the emission specification.
(California or Federal).
If an incorrect 2.0L engine is used, a no start condition will occur.
The differences can be identified by inspecting the camshaft trigger
wheel and the crankshaft pulley trigger wheel. The accompanying table
and illustrations will help to determine the diffences of the engines.
