Symptom and Conditions

After installing the SAT radio kit using the NEW style antenna w/ splitter,the radio displays 'ANTENNA+FAIL'. The new style antenna can be identified by having only ONE connector that plugs into the splitter.The old style antenna has TWO connectors and plugs directly into the DLP (black box) without using a splitter. 

Repair Procedure

The antenna cable end should be inspected BEFORE it's installed.

The wire conductor inside the SAT cable is not present in the connector causing an 'open' or no antenna signal going to the DLP (black box).
   
1. Inspect the cable connector for the presence of the copper connector being flush with the white insulator. If the copper conductor is not flush, below flush or not present, replace the antenna. 
 
2. Another antenna can be ordered from United Radio (1-800-448-0944)
