Symptom and Conditions

 

  SERVICE CAUTION 
On the Mazda3, the radio must be COMPLETELY removed and DISCONNECTED to perform the re-flash. Failure to disconnect the radio from the vehice will cause a 'TIMEOUT,PUSH RESET'error message. The Mazda3 re-flash is considered to be a 'bench' re-flash and the power to re-flash comes from the laptop.      


If SSP69 radio re-flash instructions are NOT followed as written,some 
error messages may occur. Also,depending on the type of Laptop being  
used,some Windows messages may appear that are not shown on the       
instructions. Please note the following possible error messages and   
Windows pop-ups that may be confusing:                                

Repair Procedure

Two Possible Error Messages:     Possible Cause for Error Message:

Possible Windows Pop-Up Messages:

1. After saving 'reflash.zip'file to desktop,a message saying 'Download
   Complete'may appear. Just click on CLOSE and proceed to 'Extract all
   files' as prompted.                                                 
                                                                       
Important Note: After extracting all files, you will see two folders   
--------------  on your desktop;one is the 'Zipped File' and the other 
                is the actual 'reflash folder'with the vehicle's name  
                listed. Delete the Zipped file and keep the reflash    
                folders on the desktop by model to make it easy to find.
                                                                       
2. After clicking on FlashSta.exe to start the reflash, a message saying
   'Open File Security Warning'may appear. Just click 'RUN'to conitune 
   with the normal reflash.
