When an aftermarket power inverter is plugged into a switched power
port
in a vehicle equipped with Smart Keyless Entry it can cause a
temporary
malfunction of the
system.
Example of the
symptoms:
1. With all doors closed, when the ignition is cycled to run and back
to
lock the "key" light in the instrument panel will not light red or
green
when the ignition push switch is
pressed.
2. After symptom #1, if on, the audio unit will stay powered
on.
3. After symptom #1, if the driver's door is opened the red "key"
light
will
flash.
4. After symptom #3, if the driver exits the vehicle with the card
key,
and the door is closed, the exterior advanced keyless system
warning
will double one or more
times.
5. After symptom #4, all remote transmitter and door lock
request
functions are
inoperative.
6. During the failure the PWR_ACC PID in the RKE module will display
ON.
