REAR WHEEL CYLINDER (BRAKE DRUM)

DESCRIPTION

The wheel cylinder used for current models offers improved brake feel and can be used as replacement part for previous model years. Study this bulletin to determine the correct combination of new and used parts if repair is necessary.

INTERCHANGEABILITY

1. The old and new cylinders are interchangeable. There is no external appearance change.

2. The old and new pistons and seal kits are not interchangeable.

3. Do Not mix old and new style wheel cylinders internal parts (pistons and seal kits).

REPAIR and PART USAGE INFORMATION

If seal kit replacement is necessary, follow the instructions below.

1. Has the wheel cylinder been replaced earlier?

• If yes, proceed to step 2

• If no or unknown, proceed to step 3.

2. Check the part number of the replaced wheel cylinder.

• If the P/N is unknown proceed to step 3.

• If the P/N is GJ21-26-610C, use seal kit B216-26-03Z

• If the P/N is GJ21-26-610D, use seal kit B2YH-26-03Z

3. If part numbers are unknown, use seal and piston kit B2YH-26-04Z.
