S030/95 POWER OUTSIDE MIRROR GLASS VIBRATION

APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS

All 1995 Protege vehicles with an outside power mirror and a VIN of JM1BA****S0147377 and lower.

DESCRIPTION

The glass on an power outside mirror may vibrate while traveling on a bumpy road. This vibration is caused when the clearance between the mirror glass and the holder increases due to heat. To improve the holding characteristics of the mirror assembly, additional butyl tape has been added. If a customer complains of this vibration, follow the procedure in this bulletin to correct the problem.

NOTE: Production vehicles now have 2mm of butyl tape (instead of 1.5mm) installed to improve the holding characteristics of the mirror holder.
