1996 Protege with a VIN of JM1BB****T0349420 and higher.
To improve production efficiency and seat beft comfort, modifications have been made to the seat belt. Due to this modification, old and new seat belts are no longer interchangeable.
The front seat belt latching mechanism and buckle have changed.
The seat belt anchor height adjustment has changed.
The length of the front buckle is increased (by 30mm) to improve accessibility.
IMPORTANT: If belt replacement becomes necessary, replace the front seat belt, buckle and anchor cover with new parts in a set.
NOTE: Due to this modification, the length of the buckle has increased. This increased length provides a higher level of con-dort than the previous seat belt.
