DAMP CARPET ON PASSENGER SIDE WHEN OPERATING A/C

All 1995 - 96 Protege.

DESCRIPTION

When operating the A/C system while driving, the passenger side carpet (foot well area) may become damp. This moisture may be caused by:

Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary repaired according to this bulletin.

INSPECTION/REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Confirm that the drain hose grommet is properly installed.
2. Insert a small diameter rod (7 - 8 inches in length) into the drain hose to check for blockage.

NOTE: If the vehicle's VIN is below JM1BA****S0147377 seal the cowl grill side hole according to the instructions in S/B, Cat. S, No. 008/ 95. If the procedure is not performed, this concern will occur repeatedly.

3. Inspect the retaining clip on the brake line pipe for sealer. This clip is located just below the drain hose.
